HOW OFTEN DO I NEED TO DO MY POSTURE ALIGNMENT ROUTINE?
For more efficient results to get out of pain and into an aligned body, it is advised that the posture alignment routine be done at least once daily.
WHAT IF I FEEL PAIN DURING AN EXERCISE?
While doing your routine, if an exercise causes pain, skip that exercise and move on to the next. Keep trying it every time you do your routine.
HOW SOON CAN I BECOME PAIN-FREE?
Every person is different, on average it takes at least 4 sessions to start feeling that the body is changing but yet, depending on the individual case, I can’t guarantee a timeline as different bodies respond differently.
DO I NEED TO ALIGN MY POSTURE EVEN IF I DON'T HAVE PAIN?
We all need to align our posture. Some people may have pain but do not look misaligned, others might look misaligned and not have pain. Everybody has different degrees of tolerance to pain. I can always assess your posture and advice on what needs to be worked on to avoid future joint pain or muscle strain.
CAN I STILL EXERCISE WHILE DOING POSTURE ALIGNMENT THERAPY?
Depending on the severity of the pain, it is better to discontinue your exercise routine until your pain has subsided and your body is better aligned to resume your exercise routine.
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED FOR THE ALIGNMENT EXERCISES?
We can always improvise with what we have at home like a pillow, a belt and a chair.. There are special equipment to use and most are not expensive. You can start off by having a set of yoga blocks and yoga strap that are most commonly used. Other equipment will be discussed if needed.
WHAT AGE GROUP IS POSTURE ALIGNMENT FOR?
Posture alignment is for all ages. Misalignment accumulates as we age resulting in pain/chronic pain for the elderly. Not only does it helps manage physical dysfunctions, example like scoliosis, but it also builds posture awareness for life if practiced at an early age. Our sedentary lifestyle is reflecting on the posture of the youth and doing Posture Alignment Therapy will help them build awareness of their posture to save them for future aches and pains.
DO I STILL NEED TO DO POSTURE ALIGNMENT IF I ALREADY REPLACED MY HIP?
Yes of course more than before. As a Posture Alignment Specialist we believe that the hip needed to be replaced because of compensation happening somewhere in our body causing it to get misaligned and become dysfunctional. A few years down the line the other hip will need to go through the same process if the problem (misalignment) that caused the first hip to bad is not fixed.
HOW IS POSTURE ALIGNMENT DIFFERENT FROM OTHER THERAPIES?
Posture Alignment takes a holistic approach to focus on the whole body by treating the root cause of the pain and not the place of the pain. In most situations, where a client is already working with a therapist (Physiotherapist, Chiropractor,…) I work alongside with them to better help the client in their journey to pain-free.
